Sewickley
Karl J. Urda on March 9, 2017 at Villa St. Joseph in Baden. He was born on September 6, 1930, in Sewickley.
Karl lived and worked in Allegheny & Beaver Counties. He attended Ambridge’s public schools; Pottstown’s Hill School; University of Penn’s Wharton School of Business and the US Army’s Language School in Monterey, California. He served in the US Army, European theater, as a Romanian language interpreter. Karl operated a successful business, The Kristufek Agency, in Ambridge, specializing in real estate appraising services. He served as an Instructor of Real Estate at Beaver County Community College. Karl was elected by his colleagues to positions of leadership in national professional appraisal organizations. He was once honored as the Beaver County Realtor of the year. He was an active and enthusiastic participant, board member, and contributor to local and national organizations including the Masons, the Pittsburgh Opera, the Pittsburgh Zoo, and the Smithsonian National Museum of Native American Culture. Karl is survived by his wife, Dorothy English of 64 years, his brother Jim (Sue) Urda, sister-in-law Peggy (Bob) Limons, along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service in celebration of Karl’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ambridge.
