Diana Sider, age 79, of Ambridge, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born February 23, 1938, in Tylersburg, Pa., she was raised in Tonawanda, N.Y., and moved to Ambridge in 1997.
She was the daughter of the late Mildred Jayne (McCloskey) Mahoney and Joseph Lambert Mahoney.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raymond E. “Duke” Sider in 2010 and siblings, Myrna (Mahoney) Mitchell, Robert (Mack) Mahoney, Francis (Rod) Mahoney, Joseph (Herk) Mahoney, and Barbara (Mahoney) Phelan; sisters-in-law, Joan (Sider) Boehm and Mary Ellen (Sider) Marx.
She is survived by two sisters, Lyn (Mahoney) Copella, Amherst, N.Y., and Nancy (Mahoney) Hefferon, Barker, N.Y. She also is survived by three children, Sheila (Kevin) Hilliker; Maureen (Steven) Kuczma, Ambridge; and Raymond (Nadia) Sider III, Lakeport, Calif.; grandchildren, Kevin (Leslie) Hilliker, Georgia Kuczma and Kristine Kuczma, Ambridge; Nicole (John) Fink, Brighton Township; Laura (Andrew) Yeager, York, Pa.; Amanda (Patrick Schimoler) Hilliker, Mount Washington; Katherine (Mark Schwarz) Kuczma, Aliquippa; Grace Kuczma, Alexandria, Va.; Raymond Sider IV, Lakeport, Calif. and Zena Sider, Chico, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Noah, Aaron Hilliker, Chase, Mia and Juliet Kuczma, Ambridge; John, Quintin, and Tyler Fink, Brighton Township; Jaxon and Carson Yeager, York, Pa.; Luca and Olivia Borriello, and Wesley Schwarz, Aliquippa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Good Samaritan Parish, Ambridge, also a co-founder of Dukes Ice Cream Parlor, Merchant Street, Ambridge, Pa. Duke and Diana worked as a great team with wood working, he created the treasures and she painted them which was a lifelong passion. Her husband, family and extended family were the joy of her life.
Friends received Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the KASPER-HAHN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 547 Eighth Street, Ambridge, (724) 266-2549. Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, December 5 at 9:30 a.m. at Good Samaritan Church.
