Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Campbell died at the age of 94 in the presence of her loving family on August 30, 2015. Betty was born to the late Florence and Paul Thomas. She was the beloved wife for 60 years of the late Robert Campbell. She was the mother of Sister Roberta, OSB of Pittsburgh; Elizabeth Mokulis of Garner NC; Rebecca (Gordon) Mathers of Altoona Pa; Daniel (Ana) Campbell of Montgomery, PA and the late Thomas Campbell. She was grandmother to Andrew (Cynthia) Mathers, Elizabeth (Devin) Mahoney, Fawn Mokulis, Sara (Rudy) Campbell-Hernandez and Stella Campbell; Great-grandmother to Amaya, Christian, Evan, Duncan, Aiden, and Shaela. She is survived by her brothers Eugene Thomas and Richard Sasway and cherished nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers: Olive Lewkow, Alreed Thomas, William Thomas, Paul Thomas, Patricia Thomas, Robert Sasway and Theresa Sasway. Betty was a wonderful wife and mother. She considered this to be her most significant vocation in life. Professionally, she was a nurse's aide at Laurel Crest Nursing Home in Ebensburg. She also was active in the Talus Rock Girl Scout Council, St Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, and the Altoona Hospital Volunteer Department. Betty was an avid reader, enjoyed baking, and loved camping & fishing with her family. She enjoyed every day of her 94 years of life. Visitation will be held at Saint Benedict Monastery on September 3, 2015 from 2 to 7 pm. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 am on September 4, 2015 at the Monastery. The Monastery is located at 3526 Bakerstown Road, Bakerstown Pa, 15007. Interment will be held at St Benedict's Cemetery, Carrolltown Pa later that day. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Benedict Monastery.

Blanche D. (Aversa) Stewart of Baden Blanche Stewart passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Elderberry Court in Ambridge. She was born on October 2, 1918, daughter of the late Cesar and Felicia Aversa. She was a sister to Celeste Huk, Columbiania, OH and Isabel Kisiday, Englewood, FL. Blanche is survived by her daughter, Judith (Bernie) Montell, and her daughter in law, Lou Donna Stewart, seven grandchildren, Cassie, Paul and Matt (Rita) Montell and Christopher (Carol) Stewart, Stacey (Joe) Krol, Jennifer and Erica Stewart. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren; Vincent, Anthony and Alexander Montell, Cydney, EJ and Riley Krol and Hayden Stewart, and two great-great grandchildren, Camia and Tia Adams, all of who she loved very much. She is also survived by her best friend and sister in law, Beverly Stewart in Denver Colorado. Blanche was a graduate of Ambridge High School Class of 1937, and served on her reunion committee for many years. She worked in retail for many years and retired as the manager of Top Value Stamp Redemption Center in Northern Lights. At age 80 she went back to work as a greeter at J.C. Penney. Blanche loved to golf and served as President of the ladies golf association at the Ambridge Country Club. She also participated in the Beaver County Times Senior Golf event. She was a Charter member of St. John the Baptist Church Christian Mothers. In her younger years she actively participated in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scout organizations. She served as president of the Baden American Legion Auxiliary. Because of her love of reading , she volunteered every year to serve and prepare punch for the Baden Memorial Library’s annual fundraiser. Blanche was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 51 years, Kay A. Stewart in 1992, her son Richard in 2015 and her brother, Fred Aversa in 2013. She attended St. Stanislaus Grade School and graduated from Ambridge High School in 1953. She was a retired house keeper at the Holiday Inn, Moon Township. A member : Good Samaritan Parish, also of Christian Mothers. As a member of the Diocesan Council of Women, she received the John Cardinal Wright Award. He was the son of the late Robert Thomas and Rose McLaughlin Thomas. Bob worked over 20 years in the steel industry. He served in the US Army.
